95% of Ethiopian cuisine is considered vegan. The other 5% is literally meats
Wonderful and inexpensive place! We have already been twice in a span of just 2 weeks! Food is amazing, and service staff is also very friendly.
It the best environment to eat
Great customer service and great food! We decided to try the chicken tibb, beef tibbs awaze, lamb tibbs, and the collard greens. We also had honey wine as our drink which was also delish!
Solid. Nice vibe inside.
Delicious food. We had the vegetarian combo and the lamb. We liked every single item on the plate. A class above the already outstanding Ethiopian competition in the area. They took their time to cook the food and this took a while, so don't go if you have a plane to catch, but for us the wait was well worth, every second of it. Outstanding!
Nice friendly service. Before we sat down to a table, the hostess was careful to sanitize our table first!
Amazing food and staff!
This is now my fav Ethiopian restaurant. It's never overly busy, the food is seasoned well, and the owners are very friendly. I live 45 min away and come as often as possible! I make sure if I'm in the area I go eat here.
Excellent food. Abraham provided great, friendly service. Restaurant held the birthday cake we brought with us to celebrate. Very accommodating. Atmosphere is informal but clean and neat. Most definitely would dine he again. Food is fresh and flavorful. We ordered a sampling of the beef, chicken and lamb and a platter of the vegetable options. There were 8 of us and none left hungry.
Consistent service, and great food. Authentic and not watered down.
Good food at a reasonable peice
Bagel is one of the very few restaurants in Atlanta that we ALWAYS come back to whenever visiting Atlanta. We first started going there over ten years ago, and loving Ethiopian food as we do, we’ve tried almost every other Ethiopian restaurant in the city (over twenty-five as of about five years ago). The food here is superb—with a cook trained in the tradition of the most famous region in Ethiopia, renowned for its “gomen besiga” (collard greens with beef) and for its shiro. Their fried fish smothered with a sort of roux made from shiro, stewed onion, tomatoes and green peppers is an original and must be tasted to be believed. Meanwhile, their tasteful ambience (don’t miss their cozy back food and its special decor, suitable for private parties and small groups) and gracious staff render this a place worth visiting over and over again—which we do, and will for years to come.
Great food, great service, great prices. Good vegetarian selection.
Good service good food. A little more priecer than most. If your new to Ethiopian food go for the veggie or meat combo.
Delicious veggie plate. If You have not had the chance of tasting Ethiopian food You should definitely come here 1st. Fan tastic ownership staff and food. My baby with so jealous we got to eat with our hands no Cutlery.
This restaurant truly is enjoyable in every sense of the world. The ambiance, food, care towards customers and the establishment is attentive and comforting.
First time at bahel and the food was the worst ethiopian food ever, I got food Poison after eating there, i would have given then zero, they was not friendly, no wonder the restaurant was empty. Never again, they don't even give us enough injera. Dont go here
I just had a terrible experience. Food is good but they really need to train their server better. I asked for the to go box and put my leftover lamb tibs (half of the entree and the full entree is $14) into the box. However I forgot to bring the box with me when I left. I was back 5 minutes later and the server said she thought I didn’t want it so she threw it away. 1- I wouldn’t have asked for a to go box and spent time to put the food in there if I didn’t want it. 2- she could have waited for at least an hour before she threw it away. 3- she could have offered to make another meal or even half but she did nothing. I would absolutely not come to this place for dinner if I knew I would waste $7 or pay $14 for half of the food.
We had an incredible experience at Bahel. This is our new favorite place !!! The food was authentic, served quickly, and THE most incredible Ethiopian food we’ve ever eaten. Thank you Seble Haile snd staff for a fantastic gastronomic experience !!!
Best Ethiopian I've had so far in Atlanta! The misir wot is perfect (better than my homemade). Food is served at a better temperature than luke warm which seems to be the norm elsewhere. Great friendly informative (and covid conscious) service by Yonathon. I ordered Sambusa appetizer (lentil filled pastry) light and crisp with a sauce that sounds like "amaze" (new staple in my house right next to Sriracha and Tom Yum paste) Then the vegetable (vegetarian) sampler (Yetsom Beyaynetu). If you've never had Ethiopian foods and like Indian foods you'll find this place to be a great option and yes , you can ask for a fork. Oh... Try their coffee, that alone is worth a visit.
Love it, I ate Amazing Kitfo and gomen be siga. So good. Thank you BAHEL.
Food was good but I kinda did not like the cleanliness
My wife and I love Ethiopian food. We used to go to Queen of Sheba until they closed a few years back. We tried just about every place in town and nothing measured up until we tried Bahel tonight. The seasonal vegetarian platter was fantastic. It was a wonderful variety of dishes and a plentiful portion. And they honestly make the best collards I've ever had. I highly recommend it.
Absolutley loved this place. I went with a friend who is quite familiar with Ethiopian cuisine so she did the ordering. We shared a huge platter of injera, beef tibs, fish, string beans, cabbage, and collard greens. We also had a side of samosas with coffee. Everything was cooked so well and seasoned so nicely. It was a hearty meal so save your appetite. The only thing I was not very fond of was the fish. I absolutely love the way they cooked their veggies. In total we paid together $45 for a platter with two sides of meat (meat and fish), about 3 sides, samosas, and coffee to end our meal. It was well worth it. I've been to one other Ethiopian restaurant in the Atlanta area, and I can tell you this one is the better of the two.
Bahel offers the best traditional Ethiopian cuisine in Greater Atlanta. The staff is especially friendly and most helpful in helping making your selections. The injera is rich and consistent, the vegetables and rosemary are served fresh, and the meats are nicely flavored. Make sure you share what you order, eat with your hands and take friends and family.
OMG! The food here is exceptional. I used to have another favorite Ethiopian place (not gonna drop names 😂) but Bahel totally now holds that title. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. If you have never tried Bahel, you really need to go!
Love this place! Great food and good atmosphere.
Great food and great service. Definitely going back.
Nice place food was good and tasty
Delicious!!! Had the veg combo and every bit of it was absolutely deliciousWe've had soo many veg combo's all around the world and honestly this was one of the bests we've hadWill come again when we're in Atlanta for sure😊 recommend
Bahel is so amazing. The food is phenomenal, the price is below most other ethiopian restaurants, and the service is great. I love the lamb tibs and all the cold veggie sides are great. Quality injera and all meals come with amazing sauce.
This place is hands down the best. I drive 30 min out of the way just to eat here. Sooo good!
Quick service. Great Ethiopian feel.
Good food, good service friendly staff.worth your visit.good price
We have eaten Ethiopian all over the country. For Atlanta there are a few that we like. Our #1 spot here is Bahel. We wanted carryout before the football game. Didn't want our Injera to soak up the juice from the Lamb Tibs YUM. We brought our own to-go container they were so nice to pack our food up for us. The staff is always polite and greet you with a smile. Needless to say we had a very good football Sunday that day.Thank you Bethel
Impressed with the food. Great service. Do recommend.
SO delicious. We usually get the veggie combo plus beef tibs. Their green beans are sent straight from heaven 🙌Far more flavorful than Desta, in my opinion.
They were VERY nice! It was clean and the food was fresh. The server was very attentive to my children. I will be going back!
Located next to a biggy like Desta Ethiopian and running successfully. The food here is amazing and the spice level is just so perfect that it will make your nose run (When asked for the spiciest). The service is great and the staff needs were great accommodating us with smile. Would visit again.
Food is great. Not the cleanest. Service is slow but the waiters are warm and friendly.
This place is more Eritrean than it is Ethiopian but the food was still delicious and the service is amazing.
First time having Ethiopian food and it was fire 🔥 I loved it! Very delicious, I had spicy lamb. We had great service for lunch in the middle of the week.
Good food, good service. When we went they were not serving wine or beer due to liquor license issues. Also the only Ethiopian place that didnt include 2 vegetarian sides with a meat entree. It was extra money.
Located in a small, unassuming strip mall is one of the better Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta. At one point, Bahel was one of about 4 different Ethiopian spots at the Briarcliff intersection. A couple have closed since then yet Bahel remains. The service is always on point. And if the owner is there, he will usually come over to your table to ask how everything is. The waiters are always friendly as well. There are always vegetarian options with Ethiopian cuisine. One vegetarian item that isn’t commonly offered at Ethiopian restaurants as part of their vegetarian combo is Fasolia (green beans and carrots). Bahel offers it as part of their and it is truly delicious. If you’re looking for authentic and reasonably priced Ethiopian cuisine and good service, Bahel is the spot.
A true authentic Ethiopian restaurant. Great food!
Great food and atmosphere! Loves their music selection.
Amazing! Cant wait to go back and try everything! 😋
Exceptional customer service !!!! Great service, great food, great people!!!! Best Ethiopian food !!! I highly recommend it!!!!!!!
We usually go to another Ethiopian restaurant across the street but they were so packed we wound up here and we are very glad we did! Amazing food and at an even better price! The staff is very friendly and the portions are large. We could not finish a for 2 portion but it made a great lunch the next day. We will definitely return here!
I had ordered from Bahel while quarantining at home on my birthday! Bahel made sure I received my fish tibs exactly how I wanted it with the the type of injera I requested! It tasted amazing and I really appreciate all their hard work!!
